Passed suddenly at the Southlake Hospital in Newmarket on Thursday October 31, 2013 in his 76th year. Bob, loving companion of Mary Westlaken, will be sadly missed by his comrades Brian (Athena), Shawn, and Kevin (Cindy Legge) Westlaken, and by Mary’s grandchildren Laura, Bronwyn, Christian, Olivia, and Deanna. Bob had a love of hockey and was a life member of Orillia Minor Hockey; 1970 Orillia Midget Silver Stick Championship Port Huron against Sarnia; Junior A Orillia Travelways Pres/General Manager and Centenial Cup Finalists 1983 – 86, winning in 1985 over the Penticton Knights; and 15 year scouting career for the Oshawa Generals and was part of the team that won the 1990 Memorial Cup in Hamilton. Bob had an active career as a principal in Orillia having served Cumberland Beach, Regent Park, Harriet Todd, and Orchard Park Schools. Bob was also a past president in Orillia’s Rotary Club. In his retirement he kept active and worked at Jim Wilsons, MacGregor Marine, Lake St. George Golf Club, and Huntsville Honda. Bob will be missed by many close friends. A celebration to honour Bob's life will take place at the Couchiching Golf & Country Club 370 Peter St. N., on Sunday December 1, 2013 from 2-5 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Foundation or to the Orillia Minor Hockey Association and will be accepted by the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E.
