We are deeply saddened to share the sudden passing of Ron’s beloved sister, Wanda Victoria “Vicki” Wilson, earlier this week. She was in her 64th year.
Vicki, daughter of the late June Wilson, leaves behind her loving brother Ron Wilson and sister-in-law Nuala MacDonald-Ross; her wonderful aunt Joy Craighead; her niece Maria MacDonald-Ross; and her cherished great-nieces Molly and Maggie. Vicki adored her great-nieces and loved being the fun aunt they always enjoyed spending time with. Through Ron and Nuala, she was also embraced by a large extended Irish family and their friends, and she was truly the life of every family gathering. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Vicki was a treasured member of the music and singing communities in both Peterborough and later Orillia, where she made many dear friends who became lifelong companions. Her beautiful singing voice and talent on instruments such as the clarinet and saxophone brought happiness to so many and earned her countless standing ovations over the years. In recent years, playing bridge with her wonderful new friends in Orillia brought her great joy.
Vicki was surrounded by family when she passed peacefully. In her final moments, she gave a gentle smile as she took her last breath, bringing comfort to those beside her. While our hearts are broken, we find peace in imagining her now in a beautiful place, surely already sharing her wonderful voice in song once again.
A private family cremation ceremony will be held, with plans for a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Vicki’s memory may be made to Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. The care and compassion shown by the staff at OSMH will always be remembered with gratitude.
Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.

May 24, 2026i was a very lucky person to have a friend in vicki. she was so full of fun and loved to laugh. a loyal, empathetic, loving, caring person. anybody lucky enough to have met her will always remember her smile. she was great at listening and helping others, she definately did with me. i really missed seeing her all the time with her move to orillia but frequent calls were all the sweeter. every year i knew i would get a call on my birthday singing to me. will miss our discussions about politics and the view critiques - we usually agreed lol. we had great fun playing board games, especially trivial pursuit which brought out our competitive natures. a great leafs fan. i will miss you always. wish we had more time. your 65th would have been a great chance for another party. love you for being a great friend and beautiful person. my condolences to ron and family. thinking of you all at this difficult time.
