Remembering David Robert Thomson 'Dave'

Dave passed away suddenly at Georgian Bay General Hospital on Tuesday October 22nd at the age of 46. He is survived by his wife Dionne, their children Adeline & Lucy, his brother Scott (Katie), his father Graham (Joanne) and mothers Edna and Lana (Joanne) along with many loving grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins.  He was a truly loving and loved man, father, husband & son. Dave lived for his family Dionne, Addie and Lucy…every breath every thought was for them. He loved others so deeply, and with a huge open heart shared the words “I love you” with friends and family with ease. Dave had the soul of a true artist and shared his love of music with thousands leaving a lasting impression with his heartfelt voice. His quick dry wit, brilliant writing and comedic timing was enjoyed by everyone he met.  He loved his golf, hockey and fantasy football communities…and looked forward to every season with a kid-at-Christmas sense of joy. He truly thrived within the strong bonds created with his teammates & friends and the hole left by his absence will not soon be replaced.  A private visitation will be held for Dave’s close family. All friends & family are invited to his Celebration of Life on Saturday November 23rd at the North Simcoe Recreation Centre in Midland, drop in between 4-10pm for an evening of love, laughter & music. If desired, memorial donations can be made to The Season Centre for Grieving Children. Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Home – J.H. Lynn Chapel (705) 526-6551.

Our most sincere condolences to Dave’s family. I was shocked to read this, such a loss. I’ve watched Dave grow from a young lad, seeing his musical talent flourishing from year to year, and so many years to go. When he would come into our store we always talked about two things , music and his family, that was his world. God Speed Dave, RIP brother.
