It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Elaine Gibson (nee Howlett) on July 21, 2024 at Mariposa House Hospice.With her family by her side, Elaine peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus. Beloved and cherished wife of Daniel for 70 years. Loving and devoted mother of Wendy Martin (late Graham), Daniel Glenn (Kelly), Margaret Dale Doner (Rick), Pamela James (Garry), Aletha Grant (Barry), and Sarah Whelan (Danny). Proud and loving Granny of 16 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents William and Sarah Howlett, brother Ross William, and sister Helen Elizabeth. Sadly missed by many other dear family members and great friends. Guests will be received at Hillside Bible Chapel 195 Atlantis Drive in Orillia on Monday July 29, for visitation from 9:30 to 10:30am followed by a service in the Chapel starting at 10:30am. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will take place at Stone Church Cemetery in Beaverton. Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Home, Orillia (705) 326-3595. If desired, donations may be made to Mariposa House Hospice and are greatly appreciated by the family. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Leo Lam, Dr. Ben McNaull and Dr. T. Harmathy for all of their tender care and support. We would like to especially thank the Palliative Care Nursing staff at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and all the staff and volunteers at Mariposa House Hospice. She will always be remembered for her gracious loving caring heart which shone through out her life as she sought to honour her Heavenly Father all her days.

We mourn our friend's passing along with you all ~ a beautiful and godly woman of God. Yet, we rejoice in the knowledge, (as we read in Psalm 116:15) that: "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants." We are saddened that we all missed the great 70th.
