Remembering Ann Somerville-McDonald

It is with shock and sadness we announce the sudden passing of our mother. Ann passed away peacefully at OSMH on July 4th in her 71st year. She was born and raised in North York/Toronto area. Her love of the great outdoors, sports, traveling, camping, animals and the country led her to the community of Haliburton. Ann then moved and spent the rest of her life in Orillia. First and foremost she was a devoted mother but it was during her time in Orillia that she became a recognized bus driver, farmer, tour operator and community volunteer. Her creative and adventurous spirit provided many memories of which she loved to reminisce. Beloved daughter of Robert and Jewel Somerville (predeceased). Remembered and loved by her family: Sister to Karen (Bernard) Loates, mother to Amber (Josh) Fountain, Rob (Natasha) McDonald, Jamie (Krista) McDonald and their father Bill McDonald (predeceased), grandmother to Ronan, Evelyn, Julia, Tyler (Brooklyn), Kayla (Wayde) and Sierra, great grandmother to Kenley and Wriley, aunt to Christopher Johnson (Charlene), and Geoffrey Johnson (Danielle) and great aunt to Olivia and Genevieve. Also fondly remembered by her extended family and friends. Our family would like to thank Dr. MacFadyen, Dr. Grieve, the support staff at OSMH, the support staff at the Bayshore Healthcare, and the staff at Birchmere Retirement Residence for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595, on Sunday July 17, 2022 from 1-4 P.M. with a service beginning at 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Orillia S.P.C.A. or a local animal advocacy group of your choosing would be appreciated.
