Its with a sad heart we are announcing the passing of our dear Uncle Pat, Ricky (Patrick Pearson Hyland). Uncle Pat peacefully passed away at his home in Barrie, Ontario with his niece Shelly by his side. Uncle Pat was a bright and loving man who was full of laughter and love for his family and friends. He had a passion for dancing and for animals. He will forever be remembered for always trying to put a smile on everyone face to match his own huge bright smile, whether that was by making silly faces or testing out his driving skills. Pat was a longtime bowler with South Simcoe Special Olympics and has a large assortment of trophies to show off his talent. Uncle Pat is survived by a large family including his brother Bob (Margarete) and plenty of nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Uncle Pat grew up in a very full family and has many family members awaiting him at the pearly gates. He will be greeted with open arms by his parents, Mamie (Jemima) and Pete ( Edward) as well as his siblings Valarie, Edith, George (Yvonne), Catherine (James), Rod (Loretta), Ted (Olive), Bert (Anne), and Craige (Cathy). It will be one blessed reunion for them all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through the Bob Rumball Foundation to the Ontario Camp for the Deaf. The family would like to express the greatest of gratitude to the staff at Bob Rumball Home for the Deaf in Barrie. They took amazing care of Uncle Pat and gave him a great home and many wonderful friendships that I know he cherished. Your kindness will never be forgotten.A graveside service will take place on Monday May 16th at 1:00 pm at St. James and St. Andrews Cemetery on Coldwater Rd. Orillia, Ontario.
