Mary Aileen Wallace (nee Montgomery)
Passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) on Thursday August 19, 2021 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Jim Wallace. Loving mother of Peggy and Fred (Sandy). Remembered by her sister-in-law Mary Montgomery. Predeceased by her sister Jean Jones Isaac and her brother Joe Montgomery. Beloved Aunt Susie to her Jones nieces and nephews and loving aunt to her Montgomery nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends.
Aileen began her teaching career at the old 6th Street School in Midland. She also taught at Regent Public School and Huron Park Public School before retiring. She was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church, teaching Sunday School, leading the Explorers group, participating in the WMS and serving as an elder.
The family wish to thank Dr. Rafikov and staff at GBGH for their care and compassion during the last week of her life. The family also extends a huge thank you to the staff at the Villa Retirement Lodge for providing a welcoming home environment for Mom during her five years in residence.
Visitation, at the J.H.Lynn Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, Midland, is Wednesday August 25th between 2:00 and 4:00 PM and Thursday August 26th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The funeral service will be held August 26th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel followed by internment at Lakeview Cemetery in Midland. Please call the funeral home to reserve a slot for the service as there is a limited number of spots. Masks are mandatory inside the funeral home and social distancing is practiced. We thank you for respecting the regulations we are required to enforce from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario and Public Health.
