Remembering George Chaltas

Passed peacefully at Spencer House in Orillia on Saturday October 14, 2017 in his 88th year. George was a loving and devoted father to Kathy & Jeff Marchildon and grandfather (Papouli) to Morgan and Madison. George will be missed by all his family and friends and by his companion Brenda Belbin. George immigrated to Canada from Kleisora Greece as a young man and spent most of his life as a restauranteur. First in Toronto, and then on Mississaga St. in Orillia owning the Mariposa Restaurant for over 18 years. A special thank you to the staff at Spencer House and the dialysis unit of Soldiers Memorial Hospital. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Tuesday October 17, 2017 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m.. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday October 18, 2017 at 10 a.m.. Interment to follow at St. Andrews St. James Cemetery. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation – Dialysis Unit, and would be appreciated by the family.
