It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother Jean Deschamps who passed away peacefully with family by her side at Georgian Manor, Penetanguishene on Saturday January 14, 2017 in her 97th year. Jean has been reunited with her loving husband Howard. Cherished mother of Joan (Mario) Cicci, Larry (Betty), Bill (the late Pat), Carole Irvine (Rod Billenness), Debby (Paul) Chambers, Cathy (Fred) Laurin. Beloved grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 20. Jean will be fondly remembered by her sisters Rosemary (late Bob) Stewart, Jeannette (late Wilkie) Garraway, Ann (Don) Boyd, brother Henry (Bernice) Hamelin sisters-in law Ella Cameron and Bernadette Hamelin. Jean is predeceased by her siblings Bernard, Bob, Paul, Theresa and parents Henry & Anna Hamelin. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews from the Hamelin and Deschamps families. Mom was a devoted member of the CWL and also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for many years, staying active and even bowling in a league until she was 90. Mom will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family, always putting others first, and her love of entertaining family and friends. She was an angel that has been asked to return to heaven, who we are proud to call “our Mom, Gramma D and Nanny”.
Friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Thursday January 19, 2017 2-4pm & 7-9pm also on Friday January 20, 2017 from 11am- 1pm with Funeral Mass to follow at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church at 1:30 pm. If desired memorial donations to St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Bunn’s Kids or the charity of your choice are appreciated.
