Remembering William Grainger 'Bill'

Passed peacefully surrounded by his family on December 23, 2016.  He will be dearly missed by his wife of 63 years Patricia.  His gentle kindness and strong humble spirit will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Anne, son-in-law Russell “Rusty”, his grandson Arjay (Alyssa) and all those who knew him.  A World War II veteran, Bill served with honour in the British Royal Air Force.  He is survived by his sister Irene Cavanagh, nephew Richard (Catherine) Cavanagh and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents Thomas Sexton and Elizabeth Anne Grainger, brother Thomas, sister Vera, and brothers-in-law Alan and Stan.
Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come;
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home.
As per Bill’s wishes, a private family service was held December 24, 2016.  Bill always recalled the remarkable efforts of the Salvation Army from his time in service during WWII to this very day in his local community, thus the family wishes donations be made to the Salvation Army Orillia and will be accepted by the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595.
